This time thought I’d try a night time scene. Process is almost exactly the same as day, I paint the flat colours of the building as if it were daytime, but because the moon is the main light source rather than the sun, it is emitting a cool light. As a general rule, cool lights cast warm shadows, and warm lights cast cool shadows, so with daytime images the shadow layer is normally a blue, but in this case the shadow layer is an orange hue. To give the dark blue effect of it being night, I simply put a dark blue Hard Light Layer over the top.
